Five slots

Five connections, always visible

You have exactly five slots. Occupied ones show the person. Empty ones show as empty. You can see what you have and what remains, all the time.

There is no upgrade for more slots. That offer does not exist. Occupied is occupied. To meet someone new, you close someone properly first, which means you will have actually decided.

Reading

One person at a time, read in full

There is no swiping and there are no stacked cards. Discovery shows you one person at a time, as a full page you scroll through. You get a finite set each day, and then it ends.

The actions appear only after the profile ends. You cannot act on someone you have not read. The choices are: not aligned, save for review, or request a connection.

Asking

A request costs written words

To request a connection you write between 15 and 200 characters saying what you noticed. The person receiving it reads your words first, before anything else about you.

It is a small cost, and it is the point. A sentence you meant is worth more than a gesture you made without thinking.

Deal breakers

Absolute, with no near-misses

You can set up to five deal breakers. They filter who you see, without exceptions and without relaxing over time.

If no one currently matches, the app says so plainly: no one currently matches your deal breakers, and we will not show you people who do not. We would rather show you an empty page than pad it.

Time

Seven days to answer, forty-eight hours to reply

A request that is not answered expires after seven days, and the slot comes back to the person who sent it. Once you are connected, replies are expected within forty-eight hours.

Ghosting is not a personality here. It is a rule you agreed to, and it affects how you are shown to others.

Closing

Permanent and mutual, with a reason

To end a connection you choose a reason and confirm against plain wording about what happens next. Afterwards, you and that person never appear to each other again.

It is the opposite of fading out. It is short, clear, and final, and it frees both of you.

Standing

A label, never a score

How you behave here produces a standing, based on how often you respond, how quickly you reply, and whether you close connections properly. You see one label: Trusted, Good standing, New, or Building reputation.

There is no number, no bar and no leaderboard, and no tips on how to improve it. If you believe your standing is wrong, you can appeal, and a person reviews it.

What does not exist

Things we left out on purpose

These are not hidden behind a setting. They are absent from the system, so there is nothing to show you.

• “Who viewed you”
• Streaks and boosts
• Read receipts and typing indicators
• Notifications designed to bring you back

Your data

Privacy, in short

• We store your city and neighbourhood, never your precise location.
• Identity verification is verify-and-discard. We keep the result, not your ID.
• Your data is stored in Canada.
• We do not sell data and we do not show ads.
